Boys’ Only | Russia bans gay pride, sues Madonna
Yesterday I was going through some articles and saw that Russia had issued a decree banning gay Pride festivites in the capital city of Moscow for 100 years; no hyperbole. It is in actuality 100 years guys like, 2112 will be the first possibility for a Moscow Gay Pride. Maybe just a little dramatic, yes? What’s more: from what I understand this isn’t a new ruling but is atually the renewal of the bill which, when taken to task by LGBT rights activist Nikolai Alexeyev, was upheld in Russia’s highest court of law.
Alexeyev vows to continue contesting the ban by appealing to the European court of Human Rights.
Also in Russia, ten anti-gay activists have decided to sue the now 50 year old Madonna $10 million for pro-gay comments that caused them “moral suffering” at her concert in St. Petersburg. One of the plaintiffs said that they had warned the pop Queen prior to the concert whle another said that her speech could cause “fewer children [being] born as a result and this big country cannot defend its borders.” Because of course Madonna saying being gay is OK is going to radically change the amount of homosexuals in Russia.
