Summer is right around the corner and you know what that means boys and girls…….its gay pride season (insert high pitched squeal here)! Not everyone is lucky enough to be attending pride events that are conveniently located near a beach, but for those of you who are, I’ve got a special treat. Are you attending Aqua Girl, Sweet Heat, Sizzle Her, Splash or any other event with a ginormous pool party on the event itinerary? Take notes ladies. I’ve searched the web, the mall, and a number of fashion magazines high and low searching for the coolest bikinis around that will make you all feel like FAB FEMMES. Enjoy and share this article with your BFF, your little sister, and any other FAB FEMME that’s looking for a hot Bikini this summer!

Once upon a time the one piece bathing suit was in style. Once upon a time it wasn’t. Well this summer, the one piece bathing suit is back in and if you choose the right one, it can be MUCH sexier than any two piece you’ll ever see on the rack. Pictured below is a slinky one piece bikini from American Apparel that’s SURE to make heads turn. This bikini covers just enough and reveals your curves and small waist in all the right places. Get into to this sexy bikini cut bottom. Ow! I live.

There are also more conservative one pieces that aren’t cute as high around the bikini area but still maintain a funky flair. Check out this cute cheetah one piece (picuted below) from an LGBT vintage dealer in DC. Sheik, simple and fun all at the same time. If you’re looking to spend a little cash there are also a few higher end one pieces you can purchase from Saks, Niemen Marcus, and Betsey Johnson online.

High waisted hot pant styled bikini bottoms are also very popular this summer. American Apparel has a slew of those also and Marissa Rubin has an extremely dope vintage themed hot pant bikini bottom set on that is absolutely TO DIE FOR. Cutesy tops and plain bottoms are also in right now. Betsey Johnson has some FAB vintage tops to offer us girly girls.

If you’re not into the whole high waisted vintage hype just quite yet you can still look super cute in a bikini with a “bandeau” top which is a big trend for summer. Old Navy has a lot to offer a girl who’s looking for a bikini with a bandeau top. They also have a wide variety of mix and match bikinis for under twenty bucks (score) and a number of cute one pieces that are moderately priced as well.

Last but not least are the popular triangle top bikinis that we all have grown to love over the years. You can never really go wrong with a cute triangle top and a trendy cover up. These bikinis can be found at Target, Wet Seal, Forever 21, Macys, Wal-Mart, Hot Topic, and once again, Old Navy, which seems to have the largest selection for the best prices. Keep in mind that animal print is all the rage this summer along with jewel tones, vintage, African prints, and neon colors. Don’t hesitate to but a plain bikini and glam it up a little with stunning sandals, a big floppy hat and an oversized beach bag big enough to haul two small purse sized dogs away in.

Accesories are just as important as the acutal bikini you’re wearing so dont forget the beach bag, a quirky pair of shades, sandals or canvas flats from J Crew, and a cute cover up. Voila ladies! You’re ready to get FAB. Have a safe summer and remember to stay away from ay bikini that makes you feel uncomfortable or less sexy than you really are.
