Rutina Wesley has the daunting task of playing a lesbian on Season 4 of True Blood. The actress does a FAB job playing the girlfriend of a lesbian cage fighter from New Orleans. The two make an ADORABLE interracial lesbian couple. I love it. Wesley talked about her role as a lesbian on the series and how she ended up in a relationship with a woman on the show. When asked if her character was going through a phase Wesley responded:

“Let me tell you what I think,” she told press. “My back story is … I think it’s just one of those things that just sort of happened. I think she maybe met her, didn’t realize she was being hit on, next thing you know things happen and she was sort of like, ‘Interesting. Kinda liked that.’ And I think with the whole, you know, cage-fighting thing I think she just wanted to start spending more time with her and then that sort of led to a relationship.”

“I really do think there’s a love there.”

“I would say she’s bisexual,” Wesley added. “And I don’t think it’s a phase because I think she really is into this woman.”
