Antonio and I grew close over a short amount of time. We had a lot in common and since we worked together we always had the same schedule . After pride ended we decided to try meeting outside of the gayborhood. It seemed like we were getting no where trying to meet people in clubs. Especially after the last experience.

There was someone I had a small crush on but she was off limits. Not to mention I wasn’t her “type”. Desiree wanted to hook us up when I first moved to Miami but I wasn’t ready to date or deal with the drama that would come with dating this person in particular. It was Leslie. There was something about her I was attracted to. She was very smart and went against all the “norms” of society. Leslie and I spent a little time together at my house and hers but only as friends. I think part of the reason I was attracted to her was because she was unattainable to me.  Not only was I not her type but she had dated Tara briefly and had relations with a few of my friends. The two of us becoming a item or dating would be too much drama to have to deal with. So we flirted harmlessly and never talked about the way I felt.

I focused all of my attention back on work and decided to rule out dating all together. I was working a lot of hours at Alexanders. I didn’t mind but I did mind the actual job. People in restaurants were crazy and mean. If it weren’t for my co workers I would have quit Alexanders a month after I started. I got in my car and headed towards work for a long day of torture from customers and gossip from co workers. I arrived a few minutes early so I could relax before getting on the floor. I walked into the kitchen to grab a salad before my shift started and I was taken aback by a beautiful brown skinned girl who was standing in the kitchen. Her long jet black hair touched the middle of her back and her mens cut work pants fit her just right. Antonio walked in behind me and commented immediately. “Bitch. Who is that?” “I dont know but I’m going to find out” I responded.

Her name was Danielle and she was a new waitress at Alexanders. She was gorgeous. She looked young and fresh and I loved her skin tone and her beautiful hair. She was tall and slim which was my ideal “type.” I wasnt sure of she was gay or not but something told me she was. My gaydar was going crazy. She looked at me and smiled. “Hi. Am I in your way?” “No” I responded. “Your fine.” I smiled and walked out of the kitchen. Tony chuckled and followed behind me.
