Confessions of a Femme #30 – The Fab Femme

Confessions of a Femme #30

I sat in front of the mirror for hours staring at myself and trying to figure out whether I was gambling with my heart by dealing with this girl or not. I lit up a piece of a blunt I had left over from the previous night and went over a number of questions in my mind. I wasnt sure whether I was ready to meet Danielles friends or not. What did it all mean? More friends in less than a week? Was she into me or not?

I put on a lacy body suit, a high waisted pair of pants from American Apparel, and a dark purple blazer that I purchased from a thrift store earlier in the week. I was absolutely OBSESSED with finding cute low priced vintage clothes in random buy/sell/trade shops around town. Vintage fashion was my first love after my career. My hair was big and my MAC lipgloss spelled ‘perfection’. Full of nerves and hairspray, I hopped into my car and got ready to venture of to my second official date with Danielle.

I arrived at PF Changs and to my (awkward) surprise, I was the first person there. I sat for a few minutes and sent Danielle a text to let her know I was waiting for her in the lobby. Another minute or two passed and Danielle entered the building looking absolutely flawless. She had on a fierce pair of heels and her hair was left down instead of in her usual ponytail. We looked at each other admiring one another’s beauty. Sparks flew.

We took our seat at a large table Danielle had reserved for her friends birthday dinner a week prior to the actual date. All of her friends were sweet and they seemed to like me and my outfit. They kept asking how we met and where I got my clothes from. I could tell her friends were giving me the third degree and I must admit, I was thoroughly entertained. Were they interested in me because she talked about me to them? Or were they just nosey and couldn’t figure out where I came from and how the hell I knew their friend.

The night progressed smoothly and although things were unclear as far as where Danielle and I stood, I was still pleased with the evening. I hadn’t felt so strongly about someone since I met since Tara. She walked me to my car and gave me a hug before we parted ways. “My friends liked you. They thought you were really pretty” she said before turning to walk away. I blushed and turn on my car. “I liked your friends too. They’re sweet. Text me when you make it home?” I replied. She nodded and shut the my door. I melted into my seat, turned on my favorite Lady Gaga song and proceeded to drive home on cloud nine.
